Team USA MN Runners Rock Boston!

Jason Lehmkuhle Is 9th, Antonio Vega Places 12th
in Personal Bests at Boston Marathon on April 19
 
Minneapolis/St. Paul - April 19, 2010 - Team USA Minnesota's Jason Lehmkuhle finished in ninth place and Antonio Vega was 12th at the Boston Marathon today, with both running personal best times.  Lehmkuhle crossed the finish line in 2:12:24 (his previous best was 2:12:54) and Vega's time was 2:13:47 (previous was 2:15:45).  The two were also the third and fourth Americans in the race, respectively.
 
Also competing at Boston on a day with sunny skies, cool temperatures in the 50s and a slight breeze, was Michelle Frey who finished 23rd in the women's race with a time of 2:42:38.

Minneapolis/St. Paul - April 13, 2010 - Three Team USA Minnesota distance runners - Jason Lehmkuhle, Antonio Vega and Michelle Frey - will be among the elite field at the 114th Boston Marathon on Monday, April 19.  The Patriot's Day event, with a field of 25,000 participants, starts in Hopkinton, goes through eight cities and towns and finishes in Boston's Back Bay.  Competitors will be vying for a prize purse of $806,000.
 
Lehmkuhle and Frey (formerly Lilienthal) have raced at Boston previously, with Vega making his first appearance at this marathon.  Lehmkuhle has a best of 2:12:54 in the marathon which he set at the 2008 U.S. Olympic Men's Marathon Trials where he placed fifth.  In the 2004 U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials, he was ninth overall.  His marathon credentials most recently include sixth place at the USA Men's Marathon Championship in New York last November.  So far in 2010, Lehmkuhle has won the Mercedes Half Marathon in Birmingham on Feb. 14, placed fourth at the USA 15k Championships on March 13 in a personal best time of 43:58, and posted 29:05 at the Crescent City Classic 10k on April 3.

EAGAN, Minnesota (March 30, 2010) - Andre "Moe" Dee and Arlene Young recently joined Anderson Race Management (ARM) as part-time project managers/vendor contacts. Both will work closely with Anderson Race Management president, Mary Anderson, attending client pre-race and set up meetings.

 Moe Dee has been actively running and racing since 1975. Dee has experience in computer technology, race timing, results processing, race map development, database maintenance, software installs and upgrades, facebook updates and race notifications, finish line activities and finances.

 Arlene Young has over 20 years experience in the advertising business as a traffic manager and print buyer. Young has coordinated volunteer registration and refreshments at over 35 races. She will work on races, race expos, race mailings and race results for ARM.

 “Arlene and Moe have a lot of experience in the race community and will be a wonderful addition to our staff,” says Mary Anderson, Anderson Race Management president. “Our clients will find them friendly, knowledgeable and efficient.”

 Anderson Race Management was established in 1996 and provides race management, timing, equipment rental and consulting services to running, cycling and triathlon events. Anderson Race Management will work with over 200 races in the Midwest this year.

Stillwater Marathon Presented by Dick's Sporting Goods

Stillwater, MN, March 25, 2010 -- The Stillwater Marathon announced today that Dick’s Sporting Goods has selected the Stillwater Marathon as one of ten U.S. races that are part of Dick’s Sporting Goods National Runners’ Month. The new initiative is designed to promote running and highlight the retailer’s deep commitment to serving runners throughout the United States. The ten races include other highly regarded events such as the Pittsburgh Marathon, Boulder to Boulder in Colorado, Ridge Run in Chicago and Palos Verde Marathon in Los Angeles.

Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon Registration Starts Wednesday

(Duluth, Minn.) Registration for June’s Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon begins Wednesday, Feb. 17. The race entry process is conducted through a lottery in which 5,000 participants will be randomly selected.

 Beginning Feb. 17 and continuing through 8 a.m. March 1, registration will be available at GrandmasMarathon.com for all half-marathon hopefuls. Lottery participants can submit their registration any time during the 12-day online registration period.
