Music City Distance Carnival
May 31 - June 1$4 – $800
The 2019 Music City Distance Carnival will take place at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN over two evenings – Friday May, 31 and Saturday, June 1.
There are races for runners of all ages and abilities – from toddlers and beginners to Masters and Olympians.
SCHEDULE (TENTATIVE – WILL BE CONFIRMED BY MAY 1)
DAY 1: FRIDAY May 31st
Track open for preview/workouts/shakeouts from 12:00pm to 6:30pm on Friday
DAY 2: SATURDAY JUNE 1st
Track will not be open until approximately 2:00pm on Saturday
The address for the track is 1400 Natchez Trace, Nashville, TN 37203
The meet will take place on a brand new Mondo surface being laid down in April 2017.
Athletes will not be able to run if they do not comply with these rules:
• The use of 1/4″ pyramid spikes will be strictly enforced
• NO NEEDLE SPIKES OR CHRISTMAS TREE SPIKES ALLOWED
• No permanent spike shoes allowed
• Shoes will be checked at last call in the Clerk Area and prior to getting on the track
ENTRY STANDARDS FOR ELITE RACES
Anyone not having attained the marks below may enter the Open 800 (no entry standard), 1 Mile (no entry standard), or 5000m races (Men: 18:30/Women: 20:00)
Seeding: Seed times must be actual performances (not fitness estimates) and must be verifiable marks achieved between January 1, 2019 and the registration deadline (Tuesday May 29, 2018). Performances may be from Indoor or Outdoor meets. For the purposes of 5000m seeding, USATF-certified road races may also be considered. 2018 performances will only be considered in exceptional circumstances.
High school athletes may enter the Elite Invitational Men’s and Women’s 5000m races providing they recorded the requisite 3200m/2 miles times listed above.
Seeding for the races will be as follows:
600m (Men only right bow): 7 runners max. No rabbit. INVITATION ONLY (U.S Record attempt)
800m races: Top 8 + rabbit in fastest heat. Run in lanes. Slowest seed in lane 8 sharing lane with rabbit Lane assignments: Fastest seed to slowest seeds – 4, 5, 3, 6, 2, 7, 1, 8
1500/Mile races: Top 12 + rabbit in fastest heat
3000m Steeplechase: Maximum of 20 runners. If more than 24 runners are confirmed, top 12 seeds will run in fastest heat; all others in slower heat.
5000m: Maximum of 24 runners

NOTE: All runners must sign up for the meet online. No exceptions.
Entry fees are as follows:
$40.00 per event for high school runners and adults.
$20.00 for Middle School runners.
$12.00 for Elementary School runners.
$7.00 for the Kids Superhero 200 Dash and 400m Steeplechase.
$100.00 for Corporate 4 x 800m Relay teams.
