2020 MDRA Spring PROGRAM
16 week program geared for Grandma’s Marathon Information Session February 25, 2020 – Hiawatha School Recreation Center, 7:00 p.m. (or watch last years info session here)
First Run February 29, 2020 – Location TBA – Coaches will be on site at 7:30am. Run starts at 8am sharp!

Spring Training Overview
Training: Certified coaches collaborate on a 16-week training plan with four distinct training groups so you can train at the level right for your fitness and lifestyle. It is recommended that marathon runners have a base of at least 20-25 miles a week before entering the class. Group runs are Saturday mornings and Tuesday evenings. Program runs in conjunction with the Half Marathon Training Program.

Location: Group runs meet at a variety of locations across the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, primarily focused on locations around the lakes and river road.
Communication: Certified coaches are at each run and available via email to answer your questions. Bi-weekly emails are sent with run location, workout and training tips.
Education: Guest speakers and coaches cover training topics such as injury prevention, mental preparation, nutrition and different training methods. Class specific website with access to MDRA’s Training Topics Library and Monthly Training Calendars.
Hydration Support: Hydration stops serving Powerade and water along your group runs.
Midweek runs: Tuesday runs begin at 6:00pm and help you remain consistent in your training.

The group training dynamic: Gain confidence, security and camaraderie with the support of a training group.
Team leads: run with friendly, knowledgeable and experienced MDRA member pace group leaders.
Special shopping days: Deep discounts scheduled twice a session to get you set up with everything you’ll need for training.
Cost: MDRA members $130. Join MDRA for only $25 a year! Does not include race registration.
